Seniors

Who are the Casas Senior Adults?                                                       Download the Schedule

We’re one of the most active groups within the church, volunteering in almost every area – from greeters, to teachers, to counseling, to grounds clean up, to outreach, to children’s activities, choir, food court — well, you get the picture.

We have a variety of backgrounds, skills, expertise and knowledge that is extremely useful in all parts of church outreach, ministering, and spiritual growth and development. Casas Seniors range in age from 50 to 99 years of age. Over half our group is still gainfully employed and a good number of us volunteer in community charities and activities as well.

Too many think of “Seniors” as old fogies or an inactive group sitting around with nothing to do. We are in fact active, alive, adventurous and willing to serve and contribute.

We try to accommodate everyone’s interests and backgrounds by offering a wide variety of activities and fellowship groups.

Bible Study
Every Wednesday at 1:30 pm, we have a group that meets in the Ocotillo Building to study the Bible. It is an informal gathering where we get to know one another, pray for one another and study the Bible together. We study different books of the Bible taking plenty of time to understand how each effects us today.

We take time to discuss practical application and how God’s Word has meaning for us today. We would like to have you join us, new Christians or old, and share what you have learned.

Bowling League
Senior Bowling League is a chance for everyone, regardless of skill, to come out once a week during the winter months and have some good old fashioned fun. The only requirement is that you are over 55. (But we do make exceptions.) Skill and standings do not matter. It is the opportunity for folks from all the different ABF’s to get together and have some fun.

The Bowling league is also an outreach opportunity in which you can invite a friend or neighbor to join in the fun without any pressure.

We meet from October through May every Tuesday morning at 9:15 at Fiesta Lanes (Oracle and River). It’s a lot of fun, low cost, develops relationships and you get some exercise to boot.

Bulletin Stuffers
(as needed)
No, no, these are not stuffy folks! They are the “bulletin stuffers”.

This is a group of dedicated women and men who come to Casas on Friday's (as needed) to put together the Sunday Bulletin. They put together on average 3,000 + bulletins.

These bulletins are distributed every Sunday to the church goers. Not only do they stuff, they also fellowship and catch up on what is happening at church during the week. If you are looking for a non-strenuous job where your service is put to use, then come join this hard working group on some Friday in the Hospitality Room in the worship center at around 10:30 AM.

Jubilee Choir
If you are interested in singing praises and hymns to the Lord and ministering to people through music, then you need to get involved with our Jubilee Choir.

Each year the choir has two programs; the Fall Program and the Spring Program.

The programs are sung locally at various places and for different audiences. The Spring program is capped off with a road trip to a major city in a surrounding state. During the trip the program is performed at churches, care homes and homeless shelters. Travel, music and service, what a great way to serve the Lord.
