Our History & Passion

In 1961, T.P. Lott and Irving Childress knelt in a wash on the corner of a 5-acre parcel at Ina and La Cholla in Tucson and asked God to establish a church on the site that would reach a community for Christ. Thus, Casas Adobes Baptist Church began. Within two years, a young, but excited Casas asked Dr. Lott to be its first full-time pastor.

When Dr. Lott retired in 1975, Casas called Roger Barrier as its second pastor. A remarkable rate of growth followed Roger's arrival - eventually reaching a worship attendance of over 3,000. Growth spawned the need for more land, more buildings and, ultimately, the need to relocate to its current site of 85 acres at 10801 N. La Cholla.

In 2008, after 33 years as Senior Pastor, Roger transitioned to become Senior Teaching Pastor, and Glenn Barteau assumed the role of Senior Pastor.

Through the years, Casas Church has become known for relevant Bible teaching and authentic worship, and as a church that truly cares for hurting people.

We exist today as a church to bring people into a genuine relationship of love and trust with God and with others. The original desire of our founders still holds true today - we want to reach our community for Christ.

We welcome you to come and see for yourself...

You matter to God. You matter to us.
